Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation (TASF) will host its annual “Next-Gen Now” Scholarship Awards Breakfast on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, Torrance, CA. The event is TASF’s signature fundraising event with proceeds supporting the scholarship fund serving low income and academically deserving high school students entering college.
The “Nex-Gen Now” Scholarship Awards Breakfast honors the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen and highlights the accomplishments of its 2018 scholarship recipients. The guest speaker will be Major General John Phillips, USAF, retired and former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense Logistics. Honorees include Al Muratsuchi, State of California Assembly member; John Kim, Executive Director, The Advancement Project; Keith Kaplan, Co-Founder and CEO, Tesla Foundation and Linnie Haynesworth, Vice President and Deputy Director for the NPOSS, Northrop Grumman.
Scholarship recipients are students planning careers in aviation, aerospace, STEM as well as other disciplines. The event will be attended by surviving Tuskegee Airmen who launched black military aviation in America, leading corporate decision-makers, government representatives, seniors from various STEM high schools, parents and the public.
