November 16 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
  • This event has passed.
The most beautiful jazz and bossa nova tunes in the voice of Nigerian singer, Douyé, accompanied by the exotic photography of Abril Blue.

Born in Nigeria, Douyé started singing in a church choir in Africa at a very early age. She also had a direct influence of her father, who was a jazz lover. Besides her professional career in Law, Douyé joined the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, where she became a vocal major. Douyé has a global approach to jazz, and she has produced three albums. In this special evening, she will be interpreting a selected Brazilian and Jazz repertoire from her two most recent albums: “Daddy Said So”, and “Quatro. Bossa Nova Standards”. Douyé will be accompanied by Angelo Metz (guitar), Mika Mutti (keys), Kevin McClellan (bass), and Lucio Vieira (drums). We’ll also have a photography exhibit by Mexican artist, Abril Blue. Your $20 donation includes light appetizers. You are welcome to bring your own drinks and special hors’ d’oeuvres. Free parking in the street. Questions? Call Javier at (562) 805-7770
